Material plays more and more important roles in modern society. While I agree that it is true in consumer culture, I do not think that nowaday, life is so materialistic. I completely agree with the idea that many people do focus too much on money. Firstly, money becomes their strongest aim in life so that these people try to work all the time to earn more money. They do not pay attention on other meaningful things like entaiterment, health, friends and family. Secondly, people judge others by their cover. They collect more and more luxury cars, expensive clothes instead of improving knowledge, enjoying life. For example, so many people are intersting in showing their possession on Social Network to making more respecful from others. However, many people are not money oriented. Frirstly, these people want to to what make them happy no matter how much money they can earn from that. With them, their passion is much more crucial than money. Secondly, so many peole love doing charity. They are ready to share their money to the poor. Bililion Chuck Feeney is a exelent example. He gives billion dolars to build universities, hopspital and so many charity funds. To conclusion, I partly agree that consumer society leads to material people.
